For the dice game mexen (mexxen), you can use our online dice roller or you need two dice.
Players take turns with these two dice to get the highest score possible or to throw Mex. The first die determines the number of rolls (maximum 3 times). The loser (with the lowest throw) gets the number of penalty points in the pot.
Both dice are not added together. The highest die represents the ten and the lowest represents the unit. If the two are equal, it becomes a hundred:
= 62
= 21
= 400
21 (mex) is the highest you can throw. Every time this is rolled, then the agreed amount of penalty points go into the pot.
65 is flipped mex. Can you manage to flip this with two fingers within 5 seconds? Then you have mex one goes into the pot. Fail? Then you immediately get yourself the agreed amount of penalty points.
On double throws (66, 55, 44, 33, 22), you may award the unit (6,5,4,3,2) of penalty points to someone.
If you roll 31 then you get to elbow someone who gets 3 penalties and you get to roll the dice all over again.
If you roll 200 then you are the knight and for every double number you get the unit in penalty points (3rd rule expires). If the same person rolls another double, he/she is no longer a knight.
At 32, you have to pick up the dice ASAP before someone calls ‘fixed’ and you can dice again once. If this fails then you have the lowest number.
Do you throw a 1 or a 2 while rolling dice? Then you may leave it out once on your next roll. This gives you more chance of mex.
1. Do you drop the dice from the table? Then you get the agreed amount of penalty points.
2. Dice may only be passed through the table. If you manage to pass the dice by hand to the player after you, that person gets the agreed amount of penalty points.
3. Dice can be passed stacked on top of each other. Is this the case? Then the next player must tap off the topmost die and only then may the dice be picked up. Does he/she not do this? Then this player gets the agreed amount of penalty points.
The correct name for the game is mexen or mexxen, but it is also regularly called meksen or mexican.
